Ivy is in early testing; things may change or break. This page says what Ivy stores about you and what happens to it. It describes how the app works today.
What We Store
Your email address.
A display name. Ivy generates it when your account is created, in the form Quiet-Otter-4821. It is random and is not built from your email or your name.
The events you link, with the time you linked them and whether you chose to hide each one from the public graph.
Usage events: when you open the home page or the map, tap an event, click through to an event's source, share a link, or move through sign-in. Each one is stored with a random session ID kept in your browser and, if you are signed in, your account ID. We do not store your IP address in this table.
How You Sign In
You can sign in with Google or with a six-digit code sent to your email. With Google, Google tells us your email address and may send basic profile details such as your name and photo. Ivy does not show those to anyone. Our sign-in provider may keep them.
Ivy keeps you signed in using your browser's local storage. Ivy uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and links get used. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives the page you visit and basic device details. Ivy does not send it your name or email address.
Who Can See What
Your email address is never shown to other people.
Your display name shows on an event when you link it. This is on by default. Anyone who opens the event page can see the display names on it, signed in or not. Anyone who selects a display name can see the other events that name has linked, apart from the ones hidden.
You can hide yourself from the public graph one event at a time. Open your List on your profile and use Hidden on that event. A hidden event no longer shows your display name to other people, and you still count toward the number of links. You can always see your own links.
The display name is a pseudonym. If you tell people which events you went to, they may be able to match you to your display name.
The person who runs Ivy can see the database, which includes email addresses next to display names. That link is not shared with anyone.
Event Information
Events on Ivy come from third-party sources. Each event links back to where it came from. Cover images carry a credit that says where the image came from.
If you are an organizer or photographer and want a listing or an image removed, write to hello@ivylink.co.
Who Else Handles Your Data
Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in. Vercel hosts the site. Google handles sign-in if you choose Google. Google Analytics counts visits. Cloudflare routes mail sent to hello@ivylink.co. Each of them handles data under its own terms.
Deleting Your Account
Open Settings and choose Delete Account. This removes your sign-in account, your display name, your links and your profile.
Events you submitted stay on Ivy and are no longer linked to you. Any event marks from the earliest version of Ivy stay with your user ID removed.
Some things are not removed at once. Usage events stay until the 30 day clean-up, with a random ID that no longer points to an account. Supabase may keep backups for a short time.
Your Requests
Write to hello@ivylink.co to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it removed.
Age
Ivy is for people 18 and older.
Changes
Ivy is early, so this page will change. The date at the top shows the last update. If a change affects what we do with your data in a way you would not expect, we will tell you by email or on the site.
